18th century Lake District holiday cottage

Ellis Howe is a beautiful, traditional Lakeland cottage, surrounded by fields, with superb views of Coniston Old Man (2635 feet) and the fells from every window. It is in Torver, a hamlet in the heart of the Lake District National Park in the north west of England, two miles from Coniston and within walking distance of Coniston Water, the Lake District’s third largest lake.

Ellis Howe has been awarded a Visit Britain 4 star rating; it is equipped to accommodate five people; it is a “non-smoking” cottage and we do not accept pets.

A feature of the cottage is the dining room extension, with an oak floor and an attractive gallery, which allows you to dine in comfort, whilst enjoying glorious uninterrupted views of Coniston Old Man and Dow Crag. The gallery has proved to be a fun ‘den’ in which children can play!

Friday is now our usual changeover day.

You can book directly with us or through Lakelovers.
